wedding silliness

As mentioned in the “Darwin” page. We are having a bit of a BBQ in Darwin on the 10th of December.

We are also organising a combined Hens/Bucks picnic for people who will be in Melbourne in the days before the wedding.  This is a chance to catch up, throw some bread at the ducks and enjoy the sunshine. 

When: Wednesday 17th of December at 1400.

Where: The Botanic Gardens in Melbourne. Use the Clowes Street entrance. We will be near the lake.

What to bring: We will provide a few drinks and nibbles… but we have weak arms, so we won’t be able to carry too much. Bring a picnic rug, chairs if you would like to use them, and perhaps something to share if you happen to be passing one of Melbourne’s great delis.

The Ceremony will take place in the large room at the Old Treasury Building on Sunday 21st of December at 12:00 Noon. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early, so that we can get everyone seated in time for the ceremony.

Following the ceremony, you are very welcome to join us for a glass of champagne in the Treasury Gardens, which are next to the Old Treasury Building, while we have our photos taken.

The reception will be from at 2:00 – 5:00pm at the Hotel Windsor, which is opposite the Old Treasury Building on Spring Street. 

The reception will take the form of a famous Windsor ‘afternoon tea’ (don’t worry… we remembered to tick the box that says ‘drinks package’). Remember to have a substantial breakfast to keep tummy rumbles away before the ribbon sandwiches make their appearance!

The Old Treasury Building, the Treasury Gardens and the Hotel Windsor are all within walking distance of one another. An even better excuse to enjoy the Champagne.

Lucy will hurl her bouquet at the crowd at around 5:00pm – before the bride and groom make their exit.  However, you might feel like heading out into the Melbourne evening for some more partying.
